Sales and Service Associate - New Orleans Pelicans/Saints (METAIRIE, LA)

Are you a local, recent college graduate with talent for customer service and sales?  Do you have an interest in being part of a sales and service team with two of the most exciting teams in the NBA and NFL?  We are looking for people who want to get an opportunity to use their skills and join our Sales and Service team at the New Orleans Pelicans and Saints.

The Sales and Service Associate role is a seasonal position with a purpose to achieve elevated, outstanding customer service and sales experiences for Saints and Pelicans season ticket holders and fans. The position will be responsible for a Pelicans new sales goal with revenue generated from a variety of sources. Candidates who champion the role will be given strong consideration for a full-time position.

Day to Day Service Responsibilities

  • Answer and provide outstanding, elevated customer service to frequent incoming service calls from Saints and Pelicans season ticket holders and fans
  • Assist Service and Retention Account Executives with touch point, relationship building process with season ticket holders
  • Assist with day-to-day activities in the Ticket Sales department which may include but is not limited to assembly of data entry in database systems
  • Make outbound service calls to gather more in-depth customer information
  • Handle and process ticket orders and payment plans

Day to Day Sales Responsibilities

·         Meet or exceed established monthly and seasonal revenue and ticket goals set for new business with a results driven approach through business to business calls, personal prospecting calls, email marketing, face to face presentations, out of office appointments, in arena tours, sales influencer events, networking, and referrals, all driven through a relationship building philosophy and a development of your professional and personal network.

·         Effectively and efficiently prospect for new revenue through researching industries, companies and individuals; business to business calls

·         Based on feedback from meetings/calls, present any number of custom ticket and hospitality packages including: Floor Seating, Luxury Suites, VIP Club Seating, season seats, partial plans, group ticket packages, employee group nights, private press box events, and executive amenities.

·         Actively engage in the ongoing Sales Training provided by the teams and continue to sharpen and improve skills and abilities.

·         Embrace the values of the Pelicans sales family: work ethic, positivity, coachability, (sales) cultural leadership, passion for service and sales, passion for craft, and passion for sports business.

Game Day and Event Responsibilities

  • Perform various duties on game nights including entertaining clients and prospects

·         Execute set-up and take down of sales and service tables

·         Assist with on and off court season ticket holder assets with players and coaches

·         Assist with reception of guests at entrances

·         Provide customer service in Ticket Box Office

·         Attend team and community events for the purpose of maximizing sales and service opportunities

·         Other duties as determined by the Ticket Sales Leadership

Qualifications:

  • College degree preferred but not required
  • Exceptional work ethic, strong desire to succeed, professionalism, self-motivated, self-starter organized, professional, mature and detail oriented
  • Passion for craft, sales, customer service, and sports business
  • Positive Attitude, Eagerness to learn and develop
  • Must be able to operate in a fast paced, deadline oriented environment and maintain confidentiality
  • Abillity to take direction and work as a team member
  • Ability to work under the stress of deadlines and prioritize work when given multiple projects
  • Must possess excellent organizational, written, verbal and listening skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent copy writing skills a must
  • Flexibility to work extended and/or irregular hours, including nights, weekends and holidays, as required, in non-traditional settings
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time while working on a computer
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time while working a box office window or sales table
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds comfortably

Are you a sales professional with a track record of success?  Do you have an interest in being part of a sales team with two of the most exciting teams in the NBA and NFL?  We are looking for people with great sales talent to join our New Business Development team at the New Orleans Pelicans and Saints.

Top Sales Performance will lead to great growth opportunities both in income and responsibilities. 

Some Key Sales Success Factors are:

  • High Contact Volume (Phone, Email & Social Media)
  • Short Sales Cycle (Close Sales within 3 weeks majority of time)
  • Mix of Personal & Business Buyers
  • Face to Face Appointments
  • Ability and Eagerness to work 50+ Game Nights/Year

This is a fulltime, benefited position with a starting base salary of $27,500 per year plus commission.  Our first year sales reps typically make $40k+ in year 1 and $60k+ beyond.
