Senior Vice President - Chief Marketing Officer - New Orleans Saints and Pelicans (New Orleans, LA)

Overall Purpose:    

This position is responsible for the management of all marketing, digital, in-arena/stadium entertainment and programming of the teams.  The CMO is expected to leverage all available expertise and resources to support organizational goals and initiatives, drive measurable results and enhance the overall fan engagement and experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for strategy, structure, allocation of resources, process, and innovation in the areas of Marketing, Digital, and Entertainment.  Process includes ideation, creation, modification, delivery, and measurement through the management of our brand.
  • Development and execution of market research, promotions and advertising plans, marketing policies, programs and strategies that contribute to the growth and profitability of the organization
  • Responsible for the integration of the team brand across all team assets, departments, and communications.
  • Develops digital strategy across online, mobile and emerging media platforms.
  • Oversees the management of digital content, licensing and strategic partnerships.
  • Set and achieve strategic goals related to social media metrics, advertising, marketing campaign initiatives to generate revenue by increasing sales.
  • Design and improve upon marketing and digital initiatives for each aspect of the teams.
  • Responsible for developing, creating, coordinating and executing all arrangements for the stadium/arena’s day-of-game entertainment.
  • Responsible for development of budgets and monitoring actual results versus budget for each area of responsibility.
  • Work with Sponsorship to establish best standards and practices for the use of team brands within partner applications.
  • Work with Executive Team to prioritize initiatives and determine best practices to accomplish departmental goals.
  • Develop collaboration between marketing, digital, programming, sales, and sponsorship
  • Utilize analytics to spot opportunities in the market and drive efforts of the department
  • Build a collaborative team and mentor them to be innovative and up to date with the latest trends to drive revenue retention and growth.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Criteria/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, MBA a plus
  • 10+ years of in-depth, high-level marketing experience with 5+ recent experience leading digital programs. Experience in sports marketing a plus

Social Media Coordinator - New Orleans Saints and Pelicans (New Orleans, LA)

Overall Purpose:    

The Social Media Coordinator will work closely with the Social Media Director and interns to conceptualize and create a wide range of original content for distribution on the teams’ social platforms, including photos, video, graphics and more.

 Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create relevant and compelling content for all of the teams’ social platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube, etc.) that engages fans, drives traffic to digital properties, stimulates follower/fan growth and generates revenue.
  • Serve as a digital/social on camera host when needed.
  • Demonstrate creativity in presenting the teams brand across social media while being ever mindful of internal sensitivities
  • Cover games, events and other relevant appearances for social channels
  • Monitor the daily social conversation of our fans, other brands, teams and influencers to gauge social media sentiment
  • Maintain a detailed content calendar to ensure promotion of appropriate team-related content, events, marketing efforts, programs and sponsorship activations
  • Closely monitor players’ social media accounts; when possible, work with the players to create unique, engaging content
  • Work with other departments in a coordinated effort to execute social campaigns
  • Develop strong knowledge of the NFL’s social media policy

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, Digital Media, Broadcasting, Marketing, Creative Writing, or related majors
  • One to two years’ experience in digital or social media, or a related field preferred.

Requisite Abilities and/or Skills:

  • In addition to social media experience, writing and video editing experience for teams, websites or media outlets is preferred
  • Must possess strong understanding of existing and emerging social platforms, and the ability to use and gain insights from analytics tools to constantly measure and elevate the team’s social and overall digital efforts
  • Highly creative, innovative thinker
  • Demonstrated advanced knowledge of social networking platforms
  • Strong design skills using Photoshop to create graphics as needed

Overall Purpose:    

This position works within the Digital Media department and will assist in the development, design and content management for all of New Orleans Pelicans and New Orleans Saints digital platforms including both team websites and official mobile applications.  

 Responsibilities:

  • Day-to-day website management including improving the functionality/design, making content updates/changes and improving conversion rates across all Pelicans and Saints websites
  • Leads ongoing QA of digital properties
  • Build pages for digital properties utilizing multiple CMS tools as well as front-end development capabilities including:
    • Marketing pages designed to drive ticket sales, event and arena information, and online promotions
    • Latest news stories from writers and reporters
    • Press releases, news, injury updates and statistics
    • In-game coverage and recaps
  • All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in web design or related field.
  • Minimum of one to three (1-3) years professional experience managing content for high traffic websites
  • Candidate should demonstrate a familiarity with HTML, CSS, Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Photoshop)/Creative Cloud, and Adobe Analytics. Experience with Drupal or additional CMS platforms a plus.
  • Knowledge and demonstrated experience with mobile-first and responsive design cross-platform testing (IE, Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari, etc.).
  • Self-motivator with ability to work in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines, produce quality high volume work and multi-task.

Digital Media Analyst - New Orleans Saints and Pelicans (New Orleans, LA)

Overall Purpose:    

This position works within the Digital Media department and will take the lead in providing key insights and metrics for content performance across all digital media platforms (web, mobile web, social, etc.) as well as be responsible for daily/weekly metrics summary reports to be distributed across various departments to assist in the goals of increasing content monetization, engagement and fan satisfaction. This position will also be responsible for ad ordering and placement for team partners on both team websites and apps.

 Responsibilities:

Position will be responsible for the logging of social data and traditional site metrics for articles, videos, photo galleries, custom pages and content campaigns.

  • Generating daily/weekly analytics snapshots for digital managers
  • Measure performance and results of content activations and initiatives, and develop reporting documents and dashboards for content and audience related information that is shared with the Content Team and other departments
  • Access and organize content data using database storage networks, reporting/measurement tools, social media platforms, etc.
  • Fulfill metric requests for our corporate partnership team that will assist in client proposals and evaluations
  • Help identify site and social content trends to leverage and assist with developing actionable insights and recommendations for the Content Team to develop best practices
  • Other duties as assigned

 Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Business, Math/Economics, Marketing/Advertising, or Communications is preferred
  • Highly analytical person with strong problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organization skills
  • Minimum 1-2 years’ experience plus a willingness and capability to gain deep understanding with enterprise analytics tools (e.g. Omniture Suite, Google Analytics, etc.) and social analytics tools (Twitter, Facebook Insights, Adobe Social, Crowdtangle, etc.), including analytics architecture and integration with other data sources
  • Experience in inbound linking/strategic linking a plus
  • Experience with keyword research and search engine ranking tools 
  • Assist with analysis and benchmarking against competitors within the sports vertical
  • Research and develop new reporting tools/applications to drive to improved reporting
  • Strong understanding of the digital and social media landscape
  • Strong communication and organization skills required
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and time management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, constantly changing environment that often requires time commitment beyond traditional 9-5 business hours.
  • Experience with the NFL’s DFP ad ordering process a plus
