Social Media Intern - New Orleans Pelicans (Metairie, LA)

The Social Media Intern is responsible for implementing social initiatives for the Pelicans social media channels. This person will work with internal team members to help communicate and amplify the organization’s key messages on various topics via social media.

 Primary Responsibilities:

  •  Assist with managing Pelicans official accounts, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, SnapChat and Weibo.
  • Help with idea generation, content development, planning and scheduling for all social media platforms.

  • Provide social coverage on gamedays and other live events.

  • Evaluate and interpret performance analytics for the purposes of designing fan/follower growth strategies and engagement level improvements.

  • Work with corporate partnership to ensure successful execution of partner-affiliated social media posts and promotions

  • Monitor best practices and trends in organic and branded social media.

  • Monitor, recognize and implement ongoing improvements to workflow and output of each channel.

  • Help with team photo and video requests, including shooting, editing, organizing and posting to social media.

Knowledge: 

  • Must have degree in digital media, public relations, communications and/or or equivalent work experience in order to show aptitude and proficiency with skill set for position
  • Must have strong writing skills
  • Must have a strong visual sense
  • Must possess editing skills with Adobe Premiere Pro and the Adobe Creative Suite especially Photoshop. Graphic design experience a must
  • Must be proficient with MS Word, Excel, internet and Outlook in order to effectively perform duties as listed above
  • Must have strong organizational skills
  • Must be detail-oriented
  • Must be able to come to work promptly and regularly
  • Must be able to take direction and work well with others
  • Must be able to work under the stress of deadlines
  • Must be able to concentrate and perform accurately
  • Must be able to react to change productively and to handle other tasks as assigned
  • Knowledge the New Orleans market and the NBA are a plus.

Working Conditions:

  • Position will be required to work nights, weekends and early mornings as needed
  • Position will be required to lift and stack boxes in excess of 40 lbs.

Game Day Entertainment Intern - New Orleans Saints (New Orleans, LA)

The Game Day Entertainment Intern will report to the Director of Game Day Entertainment and assist in various areas of Game Day Entertainment within the New Orleans Saints organization.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Proofread Game Day Entertainment scripts and logs for Saints Game Day Presentations. This will include Pregame/Halftime, Champions Square and Video Board PA scripts and logs.
  • Maintain a log of Video, Message and LED board assets that are needed for each game and assist with collecting and organizing assets to be loaded for each game.
  • Assist with rehearsals, make copies of scripts and logs, and take notes of assets which are missing and/or not properly formatted.
  • Assist with scheduling and/or confirming Game Day Entertainment groups for pregame presentations, flag unfurls and/or halftime.
  • Take notes during Saints games to ensure any production issues that arise are recorded for post-game day meetings.
  • Prepare game day packets for various groups for game day (parking, tickets, credentials, etc.).
  • Review Game Day Entertainment catering orders and ensure accuracy on game day.
  • Co-manage Game Day Interactive Team: Black & Gold Patrol.
  • Assist with additional projects/events as needed: Saintsations/Jr. Saintsations rehearsals, etc.

Requirements:

This Internship is open to all graduate and undergraduate level college students looking to take advantage of a great opportunity. Marketing and Communications or related majors are preferred. The Game Day Entertainment Intern must be creative, possessing strong technical, written and verbal skills and available to work irregular hours. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task are a must. Knowledge of and enthusiasm for football are a plus, but not a necessity.

Technical knowledge of the following are a major plus: Microsoft Word & Excel.
